Are you a reckless and nothing can scare you? Has the bogeyman nothing on you? So you need to enter the “Catacombe di San Gennaro” dark rooms. Here you will find out San Gennaro was African! Really??
There are very ancient places underneath you feet (from II century AC) and you can go and visit them. The voluntary association “La Paranza” look after them (and makes them smell so good!). Here you can see hundreds of graves and frescos, which date back to Paleochristian art. Here the rich and the poor, all together, were sharing a strong Christian faith.
Agrippino, the first saint from Naples, was buries in these catacombs and San Gennaro joined him around the Fifth Century AC: sick things around there! Everyone wanted to be buried there, and people used to queue like crazy even just to enter there. San Gennaro was a real lad, he used to rule the trends: a real influencer of his time… literally Chiara Ferragni has nothing on him!
