Once upon a time in 1983, Eduardo Capparelli. One day, supported by his family, he decided to open a pastry shop called “Capriccio”. This pastry shop, already famous since 90s for their babà made according to their family traditional recipe, is still one of the milestones of the city. Their “babà extralarge” is soft, light, soaked as needed, stuffed with cream or chantilly cream. When your eyes see it and your nose smell its scent, you can’t help kissing it… we mean throwing your face inside and eating it with passion. You don’t eat this pastry… you make love with it.
But if we talk about love we cannot avoid telling you about the lighting strike you will have when you will see the small pastries. Our nose squished into the window and we just wait for a divine light suggesting us which one to take. We cannot tell you the best one in particular, just ask for a half kilo plate. In the meanwhile you can discover the pleasure of eating a little hazelnut and chocolate mousse served in a little glass. The chocolate by Raffaele Capparelli, awarded even in Paris for his chocolate mastery, is pure music. His chocolates are that good that you will start singing like Mariah Carey. Now you can go, you had the babà, the small pastries, hazelnut and chocolate mousse and the chocolates… now you have the knowledge… you are free. But…
What? What is that kind of babà stuffed with homemade milky cream? Don’t ask too many questions! Grab it, love it, taste it.
And they lived happily ever after.
