Strada Statale 145 Sorrentina, 80069, Vico Equense, NA, Italia
This is the story of Scarselli family, who during 50s discovered a small beach and from there they made such a beautiful thing: a terrace on the sea, hosting the top of cuisine with chef Sakai Fumiko.
The nature, the bay, the wind through your hair and you languid eyes looking at such a beauty. The cuisine, their seasonal indredients… basically at Il Bikini what it’s nice is not just the sea you have in front of you, but also what they bring to your table.
A canteen which just God knows how many labels has, in which you will find local wines, national wines, international wines, champagne and a selection of artisanal beers (you can cheer as there is no tomorrow).
A very detailed seasonal menu which will stick you bum on your chair (which is super comfy as well).
What you need to know before ordering is that you are you to loose your perception on time and space. An ongoing sperimentation in between sea and vegetables garden, in between a “cod carpaccio with summer coleslaw” and “five fried which Riccardo likes”. Pasta dishes: fusilli with drowned octopus and beans cream; Ravioli with broccoli and ray; Pasta with fish ragu; or the classic sea lemon and wild fennel spaghetti.
Obviously the local catch of the day can’t be missed, with emulsion of lemon scent sea lettuce and seasonal veggies; or confit salted cod with roasted artichokes pesto and spring “cianfotta”.
In between the tasting menus: “Racconti di mare” – 60 euro – with the ultimate fish or “Racconti di terra” – 50 euro – with a story whoch goes from the classic ragu, to the roasted chicken with spring onion and salsa teryaky crumble.
The best one is “A spasso con Fumiko” – 70 euro: trust the chef to give you taste buds a dance.
