A healthy cuisine which underlines products from campania in a very personal and creative way. Dove gray walls, hanging lamps which lighten the tables as they were little stages and a familiar atmosphere which make you feel at home immediately.
In the kitchen chef Peppe Guida, which offers two tasting menus. The first one with 4 dishes a la carte for 50€ and the second one is the very famous “Peppe is up to you”, with 10 dishes of the chef’s choice for 70€. For the wine ask to maître sommelier Luigi Casciello, key persone in the restaurant and in our life, at least for tonight.
Lets start with a welcome drink: fried farinata with broccoli, provolone del monaco, homemade grissini with pancetta tesa and olives. A glass of Grotte del Sole Asprinio d’Aversa brut metodo classico. Best start!
Once you are comfortable at your table, lets pronounce our will: “Peppe is up to you”!
Meatball with ragu with ricotta vicana, a must, which comes with a glass that looks a Martini advert from the 90s. Follows, blue fish, lemon and camomile and to finish cauliflower fried zeppola with butter and anchovies. Now we feel the bells singing.
Sea or land, the star is big and bright: artichokes terrina (from Nonna Rosa orchard) and ricotta with crunchy roasted artichokes. Raw red prawns on tangerine and ricotta sauce.
Pasta: her Majesty the Genovese with broken candles and pork rib, fidelini with Perchia fish, ginger and mint or spaghettini with lemon water, oil and provolone.
We are getting closer to the end. Lemon sorbet or pre-dessert with pineapple, rum and mint to prepare your mouth.
We are ready for the dessert and a home sweet wine with wild cherry leaves, aglianico, alcohol and sugar. There you go, we see them coming: fondant cream, little caprese, mousse like and easter egg with crunchy fondant decoration and – drum roll – potatoes zeppole with sugar and cinnamon.
Maybe it’s because of the sugar but we are so excited and happy.
