Paninoteca da Gino
Via Nazionale delle Puglie, 271, San Vitaliano, NA, Italia
Lets clarify something: these are not just buns, these are bombs that could explode any minute if you don’t give them a bite immediately. Ketchup-splatter kind of scenes!
We are at Paninoteca da Gino, a young and harmonious place, with wooden and steel tables, iron chairs, ivy plants on the ceiling and a huge amount of buns! It’s since 1907 this place deserves to be one of the Kamasutra positions: a perfect clutch in between meat, sauce, veggies, fried stuff, dairies, cured meat, eggs. A never insecure balance for the best pleasure.
On the board you can find a long list of buns called “Gli immortali” (the immortals): Pistacchiotto with Scottona hamburger, smoked provola, mortadella IG, baked potatoes, rocket and pistachio pesto; Bufalotto with Scottona hamburger, smoked provola, fried white aubergine, baked potatoes and buffalo ragu; GinRobot with pulled pork, cheddar, bacon, crunchy onion, onion rings and honey BBQ sauce. We could keep going forever because you can also make your own bun, so lets say no one is going to say you can’t put something from the fried stuff into your bun, just like their charismatic Ray Kroc’ with Scottona hamburger, smoked provola, ham, white parmigiana and croquette.
Their bun, which is the foundation of a great bun place, is soft but compact enough to hold all the good stuff it has inside. Their meat is excellent just as their sides. Basically everything here is great!
Actually, if you can start queueing to order and at our signal, unleash your jaws!
